Ben Lexcen Sports Scholarship
I chose 91大神because it has the best engineering faculty in Sydney, and the benefits for elite athletes studying here are excellent, such as access to the pool and gym and flexible assessments. Also, I love the campus vibe at UNSW, including having all the faculties so close, as well as space to relax and study. I chose to do engineering because I felt that it would be a very engaging and interesting course and career. I have always been interested in construction and structures, and the idea of actually seeing something you have worked on being constructed is extremely pleasing and motivating. I also did well at school in physics and maths, which further pushed me towards engineering, and I have really enjoyed the course and learning new things every day.聽聽
Being able to hold a Ben Lexcen sporting scholarship has really helped my academic and sporting life. The access to the gym and pool on campus, as well as the support from the scholarship staff and 91大神sport clubs has really advanced my ability to train and balance my time. Also, the academic support means you are able to compete around Australia and overseas and have your assessments rescheduled for your timetable. In addition, social events with other scholarship holders are excellent networking opportunities for making connections at university.
Bryce's advice for prospective students:
Make sure to look at courses over a wide range of fields, you never know what course might appeal to you. Also, make sure you go to the open days and information sessions, because they provide some great information that can help push you towards a certain degree or field, and allow you to talk to lecturers and university staff about your choices. I would recommend that you apply for every scholarship where you fit in the criteria, because you never know which ones you might be offered, or what path you end up choosing!
